Though it may seem complicated at first, boat transport can be easy if you are prepared. It is recommended that you begin planning at least a month in advance so that you can select a quality boat mover, select the proper trailer, and prepare your boat for transport.
You will need to have precise measurements before you can begingetting transportation quotes. This information will help the transporter provide an accurate quote that includes any special permits or licenses
that may be required.
Apart from the actual transport of your boat, preparing it for transport is one of the most important parts of the whole process. Below we have provided a general list of things that should be done before
transport is undertaken.
- Disconnect batteries and gas bottles
- Empty the boats fuel and water tanks
- Remove all paint, thinners and any other hazardous materials
- Close and lock all hatches, windows, Interior doors & drawers
- Wind screens should be removed and stowed securely inside
- Canvas canopies will be removed before transport, and refit on delivery
- Customs can and do stop us any time any where, we need the keys so they can look inside, and all documents
- Road dirt occurs during all boat transport, shrink wrap will prevent this BUT can tear due to the high winds on the road
Before departure our driver will check your boat to make sure all of the above preparations have been carried out. |
