MECHANICAL REPAIRS - STEERING

If you are finding that your steering is overly stiff and that your are having trouble turning the wheel or if it feels like when you are turning that it is going to break. Truelight Marine have all of the skills and experience required to repair or replace your boat steering system.

There are two main types of steering systems on boats;
Mechanical/Cable or Hydraulic systems. Both are very reliable. But like all things mechanical, they do require regular preventative maintenance to avoid problems.

Boat steering problems require a systematic approach, whether the problem is a tight steering wheel, a broken or damaged steering cable or a hesitation or "hitch" in the steering.

We approach steering repairs in the following way;
